My Gymnastic princess

Sydney has been in a mommy and me gymnastic class for almost six months now. We look forward to Monday mornings to go to the library and then to gymnastics. Although here lately Sydney has started to rebel a little bit in class and I'm not sure if she is bored with practicing the same moves over and over again or if she is just being a little demon! lol. I'm thinking about moving her up into a class where she is on her own in a 3yr old class and I can sit back and watch! This is a picture of some of her friends in class, Taylor, Sydney and Sydney.Spider man up the wall is the name of this move.
Working on hand stands!Balance beam.
Backwards pull over and then front support! This was a new one and Sydney loved it! I can't believe the things they let them try! All of these moves were just from one day of gym. I am so proud of all the things she has learned in the past six months!

Go Hornets!!

About two weeks ago we went to Ethan's junior high football game. Ethan is my friend Holli's step-son. He is in the middle, number 35. Since I work the weekends we miss out on the high school and college games and so we were super excited to go to Ethan's game! Sydney Burnett and Sydney Johnson! My Sydney loves Ethan and even thinks that he is her bubba! We had a shirt made to show support with his number on her back! She was pumped to show him her shirt she made just for him. The girls loved watching the cheerleaders the most.
The girls waiting to see Ethan after his game!Sydney with her "bubba". The Hornets didn't win but we had a blast going to the game!

2010 Saline Co. Fair

I'm trying to catch up on our recent events! On September 9, 2010 we went to the Saline Co. fair with Jennifer, Joe and Whitney. I was hoping for a cooler evening like we have had in the past but it was plain HOT that night. I was excited to see how Sydney would react to riding the rides this year because last year she loved the rides. First up of course is the carousel. She rode on a horse for a minute then we sat on one of the benches the rest of the ride. It was nice to have a breeze!
I had to post this picture to give a true representation of her reaction! Before each ride she would give us this look and cry a little bit but as soon as the ride started she was as happy as can be? Maybe she was just hot waiting for the ride to start. HA!

Now we couldn't just let the kids have ALL the fun! Jennifer and I had fun riding down the big bumpy slide! Whitney started crying after we got up not because she didn't like the ride but that she wanted to go again! I thought that was too cute.
Ready to go go go!!!!
We finished up with one last ride with daddy! I didn't get any pictures of her looking at the animals but that was a big hit as well of course!

First day of Mother's day out

September 7, 2010 was Sydney's first day to go to "school". She is going to a mothers day out program at a local church. She goes twice a week. I have been preparing and worrying about this day for several weeks. I was nervous about how she would do and also how I would do leaving her with a stranger! Sydney has only stayed with family up until this day. Sydney's backpack and lunch box with her clothes she wore the first day of school.
Sydney looks so excited for her first big day! ha! I couldn't get her to look at me to take a picture to save my life! It was rainy and ugly and Sydney just wanted to go back to sleep.

Sydney on her way into class!
I was so proud of her when we got to her class. She ran in and went to this tent and started playing. There was a boy in her class that was clawing the walls and screaming at the top of his lungs while she was playing and totally ignoring him. I thought surely when he was freaking out that Sydney would get scared. It wasn't until I thought I should leave that I started crying and hugging my daughter like I was leaving her forever that she started to cry!! I felt so bad that I lost it in front of her and made her cry. After I left her room I stayed at the church for 30 minutes to make sure she would settle down and stop crying. She did great and the director of the program felt bad and called me mid-morning which scared me to death when I saw the number come up on my phone but she was just calling to let me know that Sydney was playing and having a good time. So sweet of her to call me and make me feel better!
Since I didn't get many pictures before school I took more after they got out. I had everything mapped out in my head of how I wanted things to go that morning and everything feel apart when I did the mommy ugly cry! Here is Whitney and Sydney with their first school papers! I was excited when she had something to bring home!! They made a hand print on a page that had a cute poem about first day of school.Mommy and Sydney happy to be re-united!! She saw me when the door opened and screamed MOMMY!!! It made my day! Tomorrow is our second day since we missed last Thursday due to being sick. Pray that all goes well and we don't get upset again!

Fourth of July 2010

This post is way behind but I wanted to put up some of our pictures from our fourth of July. I had to work on the Fourth of July this year since it landed on Sunday this year. So we celebrated on Saturday the third. We had a fun day filled with a cookout, swimming, eating watermelon and of course fireworks!
Just when we were going to go outside to eat our watermelon it started to rain. So we weren't going to let that stop us. We set up a towel in the garage and dug in to the watermelon.
Sydney has never played in the rain before. That was something I loved to do when I was little so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to show her how much fun it can be.Thank goodness the rain didn't last and we were able to go get fireworks and put on a show for Sydney. It was a bummer that I had to be away from Sydney on the actually fourth of July but we made do with what we were given. It was a fun weekend and I hope Sydney had loads of FUN!

Our Saturday Fun

Sydney and I have been going to the summer reading program at the Bryant library. This years theme was Under the Sea. Each week Mrs. Debbie leads the kids in songs and reads a few books and then we get to make a craft. Sydney looks forward to Tuesdays when we go to the library. Today was the end of Summer reading luau party. The party was at the Benton Library since they have a nice big lawn. They had some inflatables, face painting, and dunking booth. We stayed for about 45 minutes and Sydney was soaking wet from sweat so we left.Sydney jumping and falling down!

You can see her ball right at the pins. She actually knocked some of them over! Sydney had just threw her ball. You can see the ball right in front of her! lol
After we left the library party we went to the bowling alley. Sydney has been to the bowling alley before but she just a baby. So today was her first time to actually bowl! I thought she would love but Stephen was betting on that she was still a little too young to bowl.
Stephen explaining to Sydney how to bowl. In true Sydney fashion she wanted to do it her way! She carried her own ball and she threw it the way she wanted to.Well the verdict was we were both right. She liked it but the game lasted too long. So the last two frames Stephen had to bowl for her. Our final Scores, Sarah 119, Sydney 61, Stephen 94. I won!

Gymnastic Star

On June 8, 2010 Sydney started taking Mommy and me gymnastics classes at Leah's Gymnastics. This was the first time she has been involved with a structured class. It was an adjustment to wait our turn and follow the instruction of the teachers but she looks forward to Tuesdays all week. These pictures are from our first day in gymnastics. I did gymnastics when I was in elementary school and so I thought this would be a fun thing that we could do together.Sydney with Ms. Olivia
This is her little gym class. Taylor, Audry, Lucy, Sydney B, and Sydney.

Sydney with Ms. Olivia practicing a front roll on the cheese wedge.Stopping to pose for momma! I was so excited for her! We have been going to gymnastics for a month now and this past Tuesday she was able to pull her legs up to the bar and hold on all by herself! I was so surprised!! I'm so proud of you Sydney!!!
